My name is Malene Jørgensen and I'm a Veterinary Surgeon specialising in classical homeopathy and other complementary therapies now living and working in Southern France. I qualified from the University of Copenhagen in 1992 but had an interest in complementary medicine long before then as I attended acupuncture courses with international speakers during my University years.
I started my own practice in Denmark for small animals and horses in 1996 and continued studying homeopathy in Denmark and Germany.
In 2001 I sold my practice in Denmark to take up professional challenges in England working mainly in practices incoorporating complementary medicine. Here I qualified as a Veterinary Homeopath - VetMFHom - in 2004 and became a member of the Faculty of Homeopathy.
At the same time I acquired the international certificate for veterinary homeopaths - CertIAVH - from the International Association for Veterinary Homeopathy.
In 2008 I moved to France to set up my own practice solely using complementary medicine, nutraceuticals (vitamins/minerals/herbal etc) and giving dietary advice respecting the animal's natural needs according to species, age and health status.
In my practice it is important for me to look at an animal holistically and not just to see symptom as isolated occurences. A presenting symptom is the body's way to show that something is wrong - it is not the disease!
The term holistic does not mean alternative. Holism (from holos, a Greek word meaning all, entire, total) is the idea that all the properties of a given system (biological, chemical, etc.) cannot be determined or explained by its component parts alone. Instead, the system as a whole determines how the parts behave.
At the moment I am able to take consultations in English and Scandinavian languages. Although my French is far from fluent I do now have several French clients and with a bit of patience we always make it work.
I welcome you to my website and hope you'll find some useful information here. If you have questions or want to discuss if your animal's condition is suitable for complementary treatment, please don't hesitate to contact me - details are at the contact page.
NB - I am only able to treat animals under my care referred to me by your own conventional veterinary surgeon. It is not possible for me to give specific advice about an animal's treatment over the phone or via the internet unless I've seen the animal in the first instance. This is a legal requirement but foremost in the interest of the helth and well-being of your animal.
I do consultations by appointment-only in my practice in Draguignan (La Force Vitale) or by visits (mainly in the Var but also other departements in Provence).
Note: any advice given on this website is in good faith, and the author cannot be held responsible for the application of any of the recommendations contained herein unless the patient is under her direct care. This information is not meant to supplant that of your own veterinary surgeon, but to work in parallel with them in a complementary fashion for the health of the animals. If you have any reason to be concerned about your animal's well being, please consult your primary care veterinary surgeon.
Please note: animals are only seen by referral.
You can now choose between Small Animals and Equine by clicking at the appropriate

I hope to see you and your animal soon.
